I don't claim to be an expert fisherman ... just a guy who loves to fish and has been blessed for his efforts. I learned a long time ago that in fishing, and in much of life, you get out of it what you put into it. I work hard when fishing, I study a lot, and always try to learn something on every outing. I hope you can use the information I post on this blog to learn something as well. Thanks for following along!

Salmon Fishing is Right Around the Corner!

I went out last weekend and stocked up on fire tiger J-13's, floats, Moonshine Spoons, and terminal tackle. My buddy Collin tells me caught a King on Sunday that was starting to darken up. Come on, west wind!!!!!!!!!

New Blog is Up and Running

My new blog is now up and running on the Wisconsin Outdoor Fun website. Check out my first post as it describes the technique I've been using under docks lately. It really is a killer technique!

New Blogging Opportunity Arises!

I have just agreed to begin blogging for Wisconsin Outdoor Fun. I'll be providing weekly reports, tips, etc. that focus on shore fishing and wading. Look for "From the Shoreline" under the blog tab. It should be up fairly soon. I hope to have the first post up this weekend.

Sorry about the lack of activity ...

I haven't been in the water for a while now. Heat, humidity, waders, and old guys don't got together! I'm hoping to get out a while yet this week (maybe even tonight).

I've been busy writing my next article for Fishing Headquarters Magazine. Collin Venn and I are co-authoring a piece on shore fishing for fall salmon and trout. The e-mag should be out around September 1.

Fast and Furious

Picked up 35 largemouth before noon. Nothing huge, but a slough of 15 to 17". Quit when they ate all of my Banjo Frogs.

Ribbit, ribbit ...

Vacation started about 4 hours ago. Heading out in the morning to do some "froggin" for largemouth. Got about 20 last night on the Banjo Minnow frog. Works like a charm under docks ... completely weedless and quiet (even when you cast it against a post). Nothing over 3 lbs, but it is just a blast watching them explode on the poor things. :)

Way to go, Taylor!

You were able to have your pic taken with Brayden's 25" walleye! You're FAMOUS now! :)

Way to go, Brayden. That's a NICE walleye!

Back in the saddle again!

Got out this morning for about 4 hours. Picked up 15 largemouth on wacky rigs and jigs and Chigger Craws. Elbow held up pretty well. Hope to get out again next week a few nights.

Wow! What a difference!

Got the needle at 10:50 am. Twenty five minutes later ... I'm heading to Gander mountain to stock up on wacky rig supplies!

It's time!

Tommorrow ... if my doctor cooperates ... the elbow gets the needle!
