I don't claim to be an expert fisherman ... just a guy who loves to fish and has been blessed for his efforts. I learned a long time ago that in fishing, and in much of life, you get out of it what you put into it. I work hard when fishing, I study a lot, and always try to learn something on every outing. I hope you can use the information I post on this blog to learn something as well. Thanks for following along!

Quite the Sight

Got to fish with my son last night for the first time this year. I sure hope he appreciated the lesson I gave him! :)

The water was so clear that everything was spooky until the sun started going down. We noticed a lot of minnows on the weed flats. They were shallow early ... then seemed to move out to 2-3' of water just before sundown. About 8:00 the bass started chasing them on the flat. It was an amazing sight! All we had to do was .... throw to the swirl!

We picked up 15 bass and a couple of smaller pike. Had a lot of fun ... and discovered I need a new pair of lightweight waders for the summer!
