I don't claim to be an expert fisherman ... just a guy who loves to fish and has been blessed for his efforts. I learned a long time ago that in fishing, and in much of life, you get out of it what you put into it. I work hard when fishing, I study a lot, and always try to learn something on every outing. I hope you can use the information I post on this blog to learn something as well. Thanks for following along!

Six Days to Largemouth Time!

The Wisconsin opener is 6 days away and I can't wait to start fishing the grass flats off the spawning grounds on my favorite bass lake. It really helps that its only 5 blocks from my house with gas going to $4.09 a gallon today. That's crazy.

Between now and next Saturday I need to stock-up on Ribbit frogs, the new Berkley Thumper worms, and a few weedless jigs. Pick those up and I'm all set. All that's left then is pumping air into my float tube and bottling my "Huskie Muskie Scotch Ale". I think I've settled on that name. :)

Here's a few fish from early in the season last year:

  1. Your reaching the season for fishing close to home. I'm reaching the part of the year where im driving the furthest. I'm eating 3 hour rides for breakfast and hungry for more!

  2. I'm glad I got mine done when gas prices were only partially ridiculous! Let me know if you ever want to do some bass fishing up here. Just throw your waders in the trunk and head on up!

  3. While catching monster bass by wading, Todd makes bass anglers with boats look foolish.
