I don't claim to be an expert fisherman ... just a guy who loves to fish and has been blessed for his efforts. I learned a long time ago that in fishing, and in much of life, you get out of it what you put into it. I work hard when fishing, I study a lot, and always try to learn something on every outing. I hope you can use the information I post on this blog to learn something as well. Thanks for following along!

That's a Biggin'

Finally caught the fish I've been busting my hump for all spring. She was a shade under 22" and I would guess a solid 6.5 lbs. Got a few quick pics and let her go back to drop the eggs she was still carrying! She sucked in a 1/4 ounce swim jig about 5 minutes after I started this afternoon. She was so pretty I was really tempted to put her on the wall. If she wasn't full of eggs ... I would have.

  2. You're absolutely correct, Blake! They're just awesome creatures. At the same time, I've caught and released about 1,800 bass over the last 3 seasons. Just one on my wall wouldn't hurt the fishery all that bad.
